Inter-school Innovation Competition on Insurance Technology: Life Can Be Insured

In regard to the captioned, the students of tertiary institutions are cordially invited to participate the “Inter-school Innovation Competition on Insurance Technology: Life Can Be Insured”, which is organised by the FSTB, and supported by the VTC and the Cyberport.  The competition is also one of the publicity activities under the Pilot Programme to Enhance Talent Training for the Insurance Sector.

The competition offers a good opportunity for students to expose to a large-scaled Hackathon, get insights on the one of the hottest business trends, win a scholarship of up to HK$100,000 per team, as well as to get a fast track interview opportunity for the Cyberport Entrepreneurship Programmes.  Participants will be required to develop an InsurTech solution prototype with basic functions in the Hackathon and pitch the idea to the judging panel.

Aside from the Hackathon to be held on 24 – 25 November 2018, students could also sign up for a free workshop on 13 October 2018 to learn the latest technology trend and skills, and meeting mentors from the industry.  For more information about the workshop and the competition, please refer to the below flyer and the event website: http://insurtech.cyberport.hk.

The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups is co-organising Samsung Hong Kong’s Solve for Tomorrow technology competition, which is calling for applications in September 2018! This year, the annual competition will challenge ALL college, secondary and primary students in Hong Kong to develop innovative solutions or tools to address the needs of students with Special Education Needs (SEN), as well as their families, caregivers, teachers, classmates and people surrounding them, with the creative use of technology.

Each team must be comprised of 3 to 5 students from the same school, college or university. The teams must register online for the competition between 1 to 30 September 2018, while the designs must be submitted on or before 31 October 2018. 10 winning teams from the tertiary sector will contend for an exciting prize pool with the total value of cash prizes and product prizes exceeding HK$220,000!
