Hong Kong Baptist University Global Youth Summit (HKBUGYS) is committed to inspiring and cultivating local and overseas youngsters to have a global mindset and become aware of the wider world while respecting and valuing diversity, and acting to build a better world as change-makers.

This year, our theme is "Safe To Survive: Nuclear or Others?". A series of activities including inspiring speeches(CCL-recognised), overnight camp and study tour to Finland would be held.

By joining our conference, energy issues are going to be discovered and discussed, in order to enhance participants’ understanding and knowledge both locally and internationally. In addition to the discerning keynote speakers sharing their insights and experiences on global issues, participants will have the opportunity to be an “Explorer”-to see, to search, and to solve the “unexplored” in our overnight camp & study tour to Finland. By engaging in the discussions and engaging in experiential learning activities in local community, participants will be able to contribute to the resolution of energy issues. Furthermore, a caring heart should be embedded among our students who will be future leader of our society.

  • To inspire students to act as a local and global leader, with a sense of citizenship and service leadership;
  • To promote students' understanding of cultural diversity and hence develop a global mindset to care for people around the world;
  • To expand students' breadth of knowledge at regional and international levels;
  • To strengthen students' ability to make independent, critical and innovative perspectives on global issues and cultivate their ability to present the ideas comprehensively;
  • To arouse students' on-going interest and cross-cultural cooperation in exploring new areas of research.
