Students are required to attend at least 8 CCL items by the end of their fourth semester; otherwise course registration for the fifth semester will not be allowed until the requirement has been fulfilled.

Students are also strongly encouraged to attend different types of CCL items including seminars, workshops, experiential learning activities, campus events, competitions, and performances, as described below.

A) Seminars:

The CCL seminar series include:

(1) Seminars organized by the Office of Student Affairs on Tuesday afternoon*#
(2) Seminars organized by other Departments of the University (For the enrollment procedures for these seminars, please refer to the program details on the CCL calendar or contact the corresponding organizer directly.)

*For seminars organized by the Office of Student Affairs, students are required to register through the online registration system.
#Online registration will be open 10 days before the seminar date, please refer to Regulations for details.

B) Campus Events:

Campus events provide great opportunities for students and faculty members to enjoy the unique BU atmosphere and spirit together. Examples of such events include:

(1) Annual Athletic Meet#
(2) Annual Aquatic Meet#
(3) Celebrations such as Dr Lam Chi Fung Memorial Cup (Athletic) Prize Giving     Ceremony

Attendance records will only be valid if students have attended the event punctually and have signed on the event attendance sheet.

#Students who have attended both the Annual Athletic Meet and Annual Aquatic Meet will be allowed to claim 1 CCL record only.

C) Workshops:

Workshops are organized to train students’ practical skills and enhance their learning capacity. Examples of such workshops include:

(1) Green Life Workshop Series 
(2) Training on Psychological Competence

Please note that as of 1 September 2011, workshops organized by the Office of Information Technology (ITO) are no longer recognized as CCL learning items.

D) Experiential Learning Activities:

Experiential learning activities are unique opportunities for students to engage in practical action-learning and deep self-reflection, thus enabling them to learn from their own direct experiences. Examples of these activities include:

(1) Service trips or study tours such as Wofoo Civic Leadership Programme - Inner Mongolia Study Tour
(2) Learning through Teaching – Study Tour to Shaoguan

CCL attendance will only be recognized after students have completed the whole (i.e.: all the required sessions) experiential learning activity or program.
